Discussiosn Attribute

When I copy views from one module to another that has a Open Discussions attribute, it does not show the open discussions in the new module. I would have to recreate that attribute in all modules that the view is copied into, is there a way where the view can be copied correctly. I tried the wipeattr.dxl but did not work. Any help would be appreciated.
